Attack on TEC employees in Mykolaiv region: police provide details

On Sunday, August 3, in the village of Buzke in Mykolaiv region, a group of military TCC members and a police officer who were conducting public awareness activities were attacked by an unknown group. The attackers, armed with bats and metal pipes, beat the soldier and damaged the official car.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the main department of the National Police in Mykolaiv region.
According to law enforcement officials, today in the village of Buzke, Mykolaiv region, during warning measures by the military of the TCC and JV together with a representative of the National Police of Ukraine, unknown persons attacked the military.
As of 14:00, it was already known that civilians armed with bats and metal pipes had damaged a vehicle and injured a soldier from the alert group.
“In self-defense, this soldier fired a shot from a non-lethal ammunition device (traumatic pistol) registered in accordance with the current legislation,” the police added.
According to preliminary information, there are casualties among the military personnel of the TCC and JV, as well as civilians. Law enforcement officers are working at the scene.
Law enforcement officials reminded that insulting honor and dignity, threatening to kill, use violence, or destroy or damage property against a serviceman participating in measures to ensure national security and defense, repel and deter Russian armed aggression, as well as against his family, is punishable by restraint of liberty for a term of three to five years.
And in case of beating or causing bodily harm, the law provides for even more severe liability: up to 12 years in prison.
In addition, such actions may have signs of a crime under Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely “Obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine”.
