NBU presents gold commemorative coin dedicated to Archangel Michael

The National Bank of Ukraine has issued a new commemorative coin dedicated to the Archangel Michael. The coin has a face value of 20 hryvnias and is made of 900 gold, with a mintage of up to 10,000 pieces.
This was reported by the NBU press service, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
Theobverse of the coin features a stylized laurel wreath on the background of the MM-14 pattern (the 2014 camouflage pattern, also known by the unofficial names Pixel and Ukrainian Pixel), symbolizing glory and victory.
At the same time,the reverse of the coin depicts the Archangel Michael on a mirror background; to the right and left are stylized silhouettes of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, helicopters and anti-tank hedgehogs, which compositional emphasize the struggle for independence.
The inscription around the circle reads: …FOR US AND THE SOULS OF THE RIGHTEOUS, AND THE POWER OF THE ARCHISTRATIC MICHAEL (lines from Taras Shevchenko’s poem “The Haidamaks”) – the font used is “ChebanykSansN.2017 © VasylChebanyk”.
It is noted that the sale of the commemorative coin in the NBU’s online numismatic products store and by distributor banks will begin in January 2026.
In November, the NBU presented a new silver commemorative coin “Archangel Michael”. It has a face value of UAH 10 and is made of 999 silver. It weighs 31.1 grams.
