A night of trials: Kiev’s left bank without light and heat after Russia’s strike
3 February 09:25
As a result of Russia’s massive nighttime attack on the capital’s infrastructure, a significant part of the left bank of Kyiv was left without heat. The most difficult situation is in the Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and DTEK.
Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts without heat
According to Klitschko, due to the enemy strike, the Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts are mostly without heat.
“In total, there are currently 1,170 high-rise buildings without heat supply in the city. Utility and energy companies have begun restoration work,” the mayor said.
He added that repair crews are also working in buildings that had no heat even before the nighttime attack.
Emergency power cuts on the left bank
DTEK clarified that due to the consequences of the massive attack, emergency power cuts were implemented on the left bank of the capital.
“The Dnipro and Darnytskyi districts of the capital are partially under emergency power cuts. Hourly schedules continue to operate on the right bank,” the company said in a statement.
Energy companies emphasize that residents will be informed promptly in case of changes.
Restoration work continues
Utility services and energy companies are already working to restore heat and electricity. The exact timing of the return of heat to all homes has not yet been announced – it all depends on the extent of the damage.
