Night attack of the Russian Federation: 26 drones hit 9 locations in Ukraine

On the night of December 1, Russia launched another massive attack on Ukraine, using 89 attack drones of various types. There were 26 hits in nine localities. The remaining drones were intercepted by air defense forces. This was reported by the Air Force, "Komersant Ukrainian" informs
What happened?
According to the Air Force, the strikes began at 18:00 on November 30 and lasted all night. Russia used:
- Shahed (approximately 55 units)
- “Gerbera
- other attack drones
The launches were carried out from several directions: Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and from the temporarily occupied Crimea – the Chauda training ground.
How the air defense system worked
To repel the attack, the following were involved:
- anti-aircraft missile units,
- electronic warfare forces,
- mobile fire groups,
- unmanned aerial systems units.
According to preliminary information, as of 08:30, the Defense Forces shot down and suppressed 63 enemy drones over the northern, southern and eastern regions.
Where were the hits?
Officially, 26 drones hit targets in nine locations, but details on the settlements and consequences are expected after information from local administrations is clarified. Usually, during such attacks, the targets are:
- energy facilities,
- industrial facilities
- storage facilities,
- civilian infrastructure.
Why the number of drone attacks is growing
Experts explain that Russia is increasing the frequency and scale of night strikes in order to:
- deplete the Ukrainian air defense system,
- test new flight routes,
- increase psychological pressure on the population,
- hit critical infrastructure before the winter period.
Shahed remains one of the most widespread terror tools due to its low cost and the ability to be launched from different directions.
