Supernova Airlines, part of the Nova group, has received the European Union Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) Part-TCO (Part-TCO) permit for flights in Europe, which is required for non-European airlines, Komersant ukrainskyi reports, citing the Nova Poshta website.

The permit means that the company will be able to operate commercial flights in the EU sky, and final preparations for which are currently underway.

Strategically, the airline is focused on long-haul flights from the US to Europe, from China to Europe, and will also be ready to operate charter flights on behalf of third-party customers, in accordance with the capabilities of the Boeing 737-800SF.

Nova Poshta reminded that Supernova Airlines was founded in 2021. The company received an operator’s certificate number UA 062. This makes it possible to start its own cargo flights.

In May 2023, Supernova Airlines operated its first flight on the Riga – Rzeszow – Riga route. The first flight was operated in cooperation with the Latvian airline RAF-Avia on an ATR 72 aircraft.

on 18 September 2024, Supernova Airlines made its first flight on its own Boeing 737-800SF aircraft flying the flag of Ukraine with Ukrainian registration marks UR-NPA. This was a certification flight, one of the final steps in the process of the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine adding the Boeing 737-800SF type to Supernova’s operator certificate.

Nova Poshta has also recently entered the Austrian market with its own courier delivery service. Austria is the 15th country where Nova Poshta has launched its own delivery service.
