Nova Poshta and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 developers are among the Honorary Ambassadors of Ukraine in 2024

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine held the ceremony “Honorary Ambassador of Ukraine 2024. The Will to Win” and recognized the contribution of the most prominent individuals and teams to strengthening Ukraine’s position on the world stage. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" informs.

For the second year in a row, the program recognizes people and teams who, through their experience, influence and professional knowledge, have contributed to strengthening international support for Ukraine and creating its positive image in the world.

“It is extremely important for us to be present not only in the decisions of politicians, but also in the hearts of millions of people. To create new points of contact. To find new areas where we can unite for the sake of common welfare, security and peace,” said Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga about the role of Ukraine’s Honorary Ambassadors.

The Honorary Ambassadors of Ukraine were awarded in the main areas of public diplomacy: expert, sports, culinary, scientific, educational, cultural, digital and economic diplomacy, as well as in the nomination “A Matter of Life”. This year, the Foreign Minister also introduced a new special award in the Will to Win category.

Who became this year’s “Honorary Ambassador of Ukraine”

The honors were awarded to:

– Nariman Jelal, Honorary Ambassador in the field of expert diplomacy;

– Ukrainian Paralympic team, Honorary Ambassador in the field of sports diplomacy;

– Marianna Dushar, Honorary Ambassador in the field of culinary diplomacy;

– Iryna Matiash, Honorary Ambassador in Science and Education Diplomacy;

– Andriy Rizol, Honorary Ambassador in the field of cultural diplomacy;

– GSC Game World team – developers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Honorary Ambassador in the field of digital diplomacy;

– Nova Poshta, Honorary Ambassador in the field of economic diplomacy;

– Bohdan Hawrylyshyn in the nomination “A Matter of Life”;

– Maksym Butkevych in the Will to Win nomination.

Who can become an Honorary Ambassador?

Citizens of Ukraine, foreigners, as well as legal entities registered in Ukraine or in foreign countries, whose activities or contributions

– had a tangible political, economic, cultural effect on the promotion of Ukraine’s positive image abroad;

– caused widespread positive publicity about Ukraine abroad;

– caused significant changes in attitudes towards Ukraine, influenced decision-making in favor of Ukraine;

– contributed to the protection of the rights and interests of individuals and legal entities of Ukraine abroad;

– contributed to the protection of Ukraine’s national interests, in particular its sovereignty and territorial integrity, its progress towards EU and NATO membership, building partnerships with other countries, developing sustainable economic relations, and attracting significant international investment;

– significantly contributed to building the state’s capacity in public diplomacy.

Nominees for the title of Honorary Ambassadors are submitted by Ukrainian and foreign non-governmental organizations whose activities are related to public diplomacy, as well as organizations of Ukrainians abroad that are officially registered abroad. The Expert Commission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reviews the candidates and determines the winners.
