The Ukrainian government has decided to expand assistance programs for businesses and people who work or live near the front line. This was announced by the director of the State Employment Center Yulia Zhovtyak on Facebook, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

In particular, the terms of payment of compensation for the employment of internally displaced persons (IDPs) have been extended – now employers from the frontline regions will receive financial support for six months instead of three.

The application procedure has also been simplified – businesses can apply to the employment center at the actual place of business, making the process more accessible and faster.

“It has become easier to apply: you can apply to the employment center at the actual place of business. We want the assistance to be as accessible as possible: businesses to have support, people to have jobs, and communities to survive,” Zhovtyak said.

What businesses get

The state will compensate UAH 8,000 for each officially employed internally displaced person.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, more than 58,000 IDPs have been employed through this program, and in 2025 alone, more than 12,000 have already been employed.

Other areas of state support

The State Employment Service also offers compensation to employers who hire

  • veterans and women veterans
  • people with disabilities
  • young people with no work experience;
  • registered unemployed.

In total, since 2022, businesses have received over UAH 1.7 billion in compensation, of which about UAH 700 million was paid in 2025 alone. Almost 100 thousand people have been employed during this time.

New opportunities for frontline communities

The Cabinet of Ministers has also increased the amount of grants and social payments:

  • up to UAH 500 thousand – the maximum amount of a grant under the “Own Business” program for starting or developing a business;
  • up to UAH 16 thousand – remuneration for participation in community service under the Army of Recovery project.
