On the night of December 31-January 1, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered his New Year’s address. Most Ukrainian TV channels are broadcasting the President’s video address online, as well as Zelenskyy’s social media accounts and the press service of the President’s Office, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“Today I am addressing everyone who values Ukraine, cherishes their country, speaks of it with love: “My country”, cannot imagine themselves without Ukraine, wherever they are now. Everyone who has been fighting for it so steadfastly and so bravely for more than a thousand days. This is you. Our people. Ukrainians and Ukrainian women. Everyone I thank for this year 2024. To our people who are going through all the difficulties with dignity. People for whom being a citizen of Ukraine is a matter of pride. And for me, it is a pride to be the President of such people. Ukrainians who prove that no cruise missile can defeat a people with wings!” Zelenskyy said.

“We know that peace will not be given to us. But we will do everything to stop Russia and end the war. This is what each of us would like. Behind each of us is Mother Ukraine. And she deserves to live in peace. I wish it to all of us. Both as President of Ukraine and as a citizen, I will do everything for this next year. I know that I will not be alone. I know that you are with me side by side. Millions of Ukrainians. Strong. Free. Beautiful. Independent,” the President said.

This is the third New Year’s holiday that our country celebrates in the context of a large-scale war unleashed by the Russian Federation.

It should be noted that this is the sixth time the current president has congratulated the Ukrainian people on the holiday. In 2020, Zelenskyy’s New Year’s greetings lasted 13 minutes and 20 seconds. With the onset of 2021, the head of state greeted for 14 minutes and 50 seconds. The address before the new year 2022 took a little over 21 minutes.

Before the onset of 2023, the President of Ukraine recorded a New Year’s greeting in the midst of a full-scale war. The video took 17 minutes. Zelensky’s greeting to the previous year, 2024, lasted 20 minutes and 40 seconds.
