New member of parliament: what is known about Serhiy Karabuta

On Monday, February 3, Serhiy Karabuta took the oath of office and officially became a member of the Ukrainian parliament. This was announced during a plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Karabuta entered parliament on the Servant of the People party list — in the 2019 snap elections, he was No. 156 on the political force’s electoral list.
Who he replaced
On January 23, 2026, the Central Election Commission recognized Serhiy Karabuta as an elected People’s Deputy. His seat became vacant after the death of Oleksandr Kabanov, a deputy from the Servant of the People faction, which became known on January 14.
His colleagues in parliament reported that Kabanov’s death was sudden, despite his existing health problems.
What is known about the new deputy
Serhiy Karabuta was born on January 3, 1983, in Kyiv. He has a degree in management, graduating in 2006 from the Institute of Tourism of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine and the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management.
He worked in the tourism business. In particular, he was the co-founder and director of the travel company Tropicana Travel LLC, and also headed the Kyiv branch of Mandry LLC.
In 2019, he ran for the Verkhovna Rada of the IX convocation from the Servant of the People party as an independent.
After Oleksandr Kabanov’s departure, it was Karabuta who received the right to a deputy mandate as the next candidate on the party list.
