Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has changed his image dramatically since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion. His clothes now feature a restrained military-casual style that world leaders are trying to emulate.
At the same time, Katia Vozianova, owner of the Indposhiv clothing brand, whose services the president has used, among others, claims that Zelenskyy is a fairly undemanding client. She spoke about this in an interview with
as part of the special project “War & Fashion: The Heartbeat of Ukrainian Fashion“.
“From my personal communication with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, I realised that as a person and as a client, he does not stand out from our other clients at all. I will say more, his requirements for a suit were far from as serious as those of some of our clients. When we came for fittings, he always said: “Do your job. I know that you do it very well and know it better than I. I only have these suggestions, and then it’s up to you,”
– said the designer.
According to her, the secret of the brand’s success lies in its simultaneous democracy and exclusivity, when each client is treated like a president.
“In terms of customer service, we have a rule that was established 15 years ago when the company was founded. For us, each client is like the only one and exclusive. So we treat all our clients like the president,”
– says Vozianova. As an example, she cited a project where children from orphanages actually used the presidential service.
“Before the war, we were implementing a charity project when we sewed suits for boys from orphanages. They were 7, 10, 13 years old. Everyone in our team, and this was the rule, treated all the boys exactly the same as each of our clients. We communicate on a first-name basis, do as many fittings as necessary to ensure that the suit fits perfectly…”
– says the owner of the Indposhiv brand.
