Occupying authorities reset Ukrainians’ seniority in Kherson region: what is known

25 February 09:47

After the occupation of part of the Kherson region, the local occupation administration effectively annulled the employment relationships of residents with Ukrainian employers.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to a publication by the Center for National Resistance.

This was reported by sources familiar with the actions of the occupation structures, specifying that the changes were made retroactively, effective February 24, 2022.

Cancellation of employment relationships

According to the decree of the occupying authorities, employees had to be “reappointed” under Russian law and new entries had to be made in their employment records.

However, those who left the temporarily occupied territory and moved to the Russian Federation were not included in this system.

Without official reissuance of documents, they found themselves unaccounted for: without confirmed seniority, accruals, and the right to full payments.

The problem of recognizing work experience

According to available data, Russian authorities do not recognize Ukrainian work experience without “proper” registration through the occupation authorities.

People who have lost contact with Ukraine and do not have supporting documents find themselves in a legal vacuum.

Minimum payments and zero work experience

As a result, some citizens who bet on the Russian Federation now receive minimal payments or are completely deprived of financial support.

The work experience accumulated over the years in Ukraine has been effectively nullified, and the promised “social integration” has turned out to be a mere formality that does not provide real rights and benefits.
