Oleh Zhdanov says whether there will be an attack on Kyiv

Against the backdrop of the Russian offensive in Kharkiv region, talk of a possible attack on the capital has spread. However, according to military expert Oleh Zhdanov, there will be no offensive on Kyiv because the Russians do not have enough resources to do so. He said this in an exclusive comment to Komersant ukrainskyi 
.
“It is not even appropriate to discuss this! What can the Russians use to attack Kyiv with? Well, they made an offensive in the Kharkiv region – we knew they would try. Well, they tried and what did they achieve? The advance into our country was a maximum of 8 kilometres. Today, it is a big question whether they will try to attack Sumy region. So I would not consider Kyiv for now,”
– zhdanov said.
In his opinion, talks about a possible attack on Kyiv began against the backdrop of a statement by the commander of the Ukrainian Army, General Oleksandr Pavliuk, about the formation of separate brigades for the defence of Kyiv.
Earlier, in an interview with The Economist, Pavlyuk explained how Ukraine plans to defend the capital. He said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are already preparing new brigades and that some of them are expected to be deployed in Kyiv. According to Pavlyuk, 10 formations are being prepared.
