Orban threatens Brussels with court action if Hungary’s veto is revoked

If the European Union violates its own laws and deprives Hungary of its veto power to admit Ukraine to the alliance, Budapest will sue Brussels and win. This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in an interview with the Hetek portal, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“What they are trying to do in Brussels is at least a clear violation of constitutional norms, as it will lead to a trial, we will go to court, and then they will lose in court,” Orban said.
He also revealed the EU leadership’s plans to interfere in Hungary’s internal affairs. According to the prime minister, Brussels expects to oust the current Hungarian government during the parliamentary elections to be held in April. Orban noted that Brussels supports the opposition, which approves of Ukraine’s accession to the EU, with “huge amounts of money.”
“So, they don’t want to change laws, they want to change governments. And they do it absolutely shamelessly,” the prime minister added.
According to him, Hungary has the right not to want to be in the same union with Ukraine, despite the fact that about 24 EU member states have expressed a desire to accept Kyiv into the regional community. Orban emphasized that Hungary does not want to be linked to Ukraine either economically through the EU or militarily through NATO.
