In North America, the Moon will appear earlier, the ideal time for viewing is November 16, when it will rise about 20-30 minutes after sunset.

On the night of November 15-16, the Moon, also known as the Beaver Moon, will be near the Pleiades star cluster.

Last Supermoon of 2024: how and when to see it?

On the Ukrainian sky, the stars of the Pleiades will be located in the lower left corner of the Moon on November 15 and in its upper right corner on November 16. You don’t need special equipment to watch this spectacle, but binoculars or a telescope will allow you to see details on the Moon’s surface.

A supermoon occurs when the Moon is at a minimum distance from the Earth, called perigee. If the full Moon is within 90% of perigee, it is considered a Supermoon.

The November Full Moon is called the “Beaver Moon” because during this period beavers are actively building their dams. It is also called the Frosty, Snowy, or Freezing Moon, as this time is associated with the onset of cold weather.
