Another criminal investigation has been launched against former oligarch Ihor Kolomoyskyy and his partner who left Ukraine, Hennadiy Boholyubov, this was reported by the adviser to the President’s Office, Serhiy Leshchenko, citing his own sources in the law enforcement system, Komersant ukrainskyi reported.

“The other day ex-partner Alexey Martynov filed a criminal complaint with the Bureau of economic security regarding the actions of Kolomoisky and his partner Gennady Bogolyubov in terms of fraud with corporate rights. An investigation has been launched on Martynov’s application, my interlocutors in the law enforcement system report.

Earlier, Martynov gave his first interview with the Focus publication in many years, where he said that “Gennady Bogolyubov’s statement that I am not a partner in the Privat group was news not only to me, but also to many in Ukraine,” because “99 per cent of people working in the structure, including accountants and managers of companies, know perfectly well that I was one of the managers and am a co-owner of all these businesses,” Leshchenko wrote.

As Komersant ukrainskyi wrote, according to the SBU investigation, co-founder of the Privat group and President of the Dnipropetrovsk Jewish community Hennadiy Bogolyubov and businessman Ihor Kolomoisky “laundered” funds, in particular, through the Jewish Community of Ukraine. In total, we are talking about more than 5.8 billion hryvnias that were transferred abroad. What part of these funds went through the Jewish organisation has not been specified in the court rulings so far.
