Passport services abroad have stopped issuing ready-made documents to Ukrainians: details

On 23 April, the foreign branches of the state enterprise Document stopped issuing ready-made documents to Ukrainians for technical reasons related to fingerprinting. This was reported by the press service of the State Enterprise “Document”, Komersant ukrainskyi https://www.komersant.info/ reports.

However, applications for new passports continue as usual.

“Unfortunately, due to technical reasons, the issuance of ready-made documents in the foreign branches of the State Enterprise “Document” has been suspended. The submission of applications for passport documents is carried out as usual. Passports can be issued to children under 12 years of age as there is no need for biometric verification,” the statement said,

Foreign branches will notify all service users of the resumption of document issuance systems on all official resources of the State Enterprise “Document”

This statement was preceded by a letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the temporary suspension of consular services abroad for men of military age, which was circulated by the media.

It is worth noting that after the draft law on mobilisation was passed, Ukrainians abroad went abroad in droves to get their passports.

On 15 April , the foreign branches of the state enterprise Document cancelled live queues .

On 11 April, the Verkhovna Rada passed the law on mobilisation in the second reading. The law, among other things, provides for restrictions on the provision of consular services to Ukrainian men liable for military service abroad. This right will be denied to men who have not updated their military registration data in the Military Registration and Enlistment Office.
