Pavelko is wanted: what is known about the case of the former head of the UAF

Former president of the Ukrainian Football Association Andriy Pavelko has been officially put on the wanted list. The relevant information appeared in the “Wanted” section on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

According to the published data, Pavelko belongs to the category of persons hiding from the pre-trial investigation authorities. He is charged with misappropriation and embezzlement of property through abuse of office, as well as forgery.

The date of disappearance is November 5, 2025.

What is known about the possible whereabouts

Earlier, a number of media outlets reported that Andriy Pavelko could have left Ukraine at the end of 2024.

According to unofficial information, he could have used disability documents to cross the border, which is also being checked as part of the investigation.

What Pavelko is accused of

Pavelko, together with former UAF Secretary General Yuriy Zapisotskyi, is suspected of embezzling funds allocated for the construction of a plant for the production of artificial turf for football fields.

According to the investigation, budget and grant funds could have been misused.

In March last year, both defendants in the case were released from the pre-trial detention center, after which the criminal proceedings continued in court and under investigation.

Changes in the UAF leadership

After Pavelko’s suspension, on January 25, Andriy Shevchenko was elected as the new president of the UAF.

He was the only candidate for this position and declared a course to reform the football organization and restore confidence in its management.
