FORECAST
Traditionally, the demand for eggs grows before the New Year holidays, so producers expect a certain price increase. About this in an exclusive commentary
After the autumn increase in the price of eggs in Ukraine, the market situation has gradually stabilized. According to Sergiy Karpenko, there is even a tendency to a slight decrease in wholesale prices.
“After a seasonal increase in selling prices, today the domestic market is experiencing stabilization with a downward trend,” explains Mr. Karpenko.
The expert emphasizes that traditionally, before the New Year holidays, the demand for eggs increases, so producers expect a certain rise in price. However, the price increase will not be critical – within 10-15%.

What will affect the price of eggs by the end of the year
The key factors that will determine the situation on the market are
- end-user demand, which can change dynamically depending on the purchasing power of the population;
- absence of force majeure, including outbreaks of bird diseases or logistical problems.
“The main thing is that the price situation in the feed market and other cost components remain stable until the end of the year,” summarized the director of the Ukrainian Poultry Association.

Ukraine without a deficit: what producers say
“We do not expect a shortage of eggs on the Ukrainian market,” said Sergiy Karpenko, director of the Ukrainian Poultry Association, in a commentary to
"Komersant Ukrainian"
According to him, industrial production in the country has already recovered to the level of 2021, while the number of consumers, on the contrary, has decreased. This means that domestic demand is fully covered by national production.
The bird flu situation in the country is currently under control.
“Currently, the situation with bird flu in the country is under control, no outbreaks have been recorded. Enterprises are operating in a closed mode, and biosecurity measures have been strengthened,” Karpenko said.
He also noted that if the situation worsens, producers may reduce exports and redirect some products to the domestic market, ensuring stable supplies.
