Following attacks on the power grid, the Heart Institute in Kyiv is operating at the limits of its energy capacity: assistance is required
18 January 07:02
The Heart Institute in Kyiv has requested assistance due to power outages following massive attacks on the capital’s power grid and an urgent need for additional uninterruptible power supplies.
This was reported by Ukrainian cardiac surgeon and director of the Heart Institute Boris Todurov on social media, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to him, despite the operation of powerful generators, the facility faces technical risks during power switching.
Due to the recent massive attacks on Kyiv, the entire power system of the city is under threat, which has also affected the work of medical institutions. The Heart Institute has generators that ensure the uninterrupted operation of operating rooms, intensive care units, and all critical infrastructure, allowing it to continue providing medical care to patients.
At the same time, when switching to generator power, there are short-term failures in the operation of computers and life support systems in intensive care units and operating rooms. That is why the Heart Institute is in urgent need of purchasing EcoFlow portable power stations with a capacity of 5-6 kW, as well as UPS equipment for stable uninterrupted power supply.
“However, during the brief moments of switching to generator power, there will be a failure in the operation of computers and life support systems in the intensive care unit and operating rooms. That is why the Heart Institute is currently in urgent need of purchasing 5-6 kW EcoFlow portable power stations and UPS equipment for uninterrupted power supply,” Todurov wrote.
The institution emphasizes that any help is extremely important and thanks everyone for their support, trust, and concern.

Problems with electricity supply
We remind you that on the evening of January 14, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that due to the severe consequences of Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, a decision is planned to be made to introduce a state of emergency in the energy sector.
At the same time, the Russian terrorist regime is considering options for striking nuclear power plant substations. Russian terrorists in the Kremlin vainly hope that terrorist attacks on nuclear power plants will force Ukraine to surrender. The Russians plan to leave Ukrainians completely without electricity and heat, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
On January 17, Zelensky confirmed that Ukrainian intelligence has information about Russia’s preparations for new attacks on Ukraine’s energy sector and infrastructure. He announced the strengthening of Ukraine’s air defenses to prevent the Russians from carrying out terrorist attacks against the energy sector.
