After the summer lull: consumer prices in Ukraine have gone up again

In September, consumer prices in Ukraine increased by 0.3% compared to the previous month.

Such data was released by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

It should be noted that in August of this year, deflation was recorded in Ukraine at the level of 0.2%.

At the same time, food prices in the reporting month fell significantly compared to August – by 0.8%.

Among food categories, prices for fruits fell the most last month – by 11.8% and vegetables – by 10.6%. In addition, sugar fell by 1.5% and eggs by 2.9%. At the same time, bread went up by 0.8%, pasta by 0.4%, and sunflower oil by 2.1% in September.

Also, prices for livestock products increased over the month: meat and meat products went up by 1.2%, milk – by 0.4%, cheeses and soft cheeses – by 0.1%, and butter – by 0.7%.

In general, consumer prices in Ukraine increased by 6.4% in the first nine months of this year, while food prices increased by 7%.
