North Korea has sent to Russia at least 10,000 shipping containers that could contain about 4.8 million artillery shells, similar to those used by the enemy against Ukraine. This was stated by South Korean Defence Minister Shin Wonsik in an interview with Bloomberg, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

According to him, North Korea has also sent dozens of ballistic missiles to Russia.

In exchange for the ammunition, Russia sent North Korea technologies that will help Pyongyang deploy a number of reconnaissance satellites, as well as weapons such as tanks and aircraft.

At the same time, the Russian leader is likely to ask for even more artillery during his visit to Pyongyang, South Korea’s defence minister said.

“It is expected that Putin will seek closer security cooperation with North Korea, especially on military supplies, including artillery shells,” Shin said,

– Shin said.

Earlier it was reported that North Korea has sent more than 10,000 containers with ammunition or ammunition-related materials to Russia since September last year to be used in the war against Ukraine.

In an interview with Interfax-Ukraine, Defence Intelligence of Ukraine’s chief of staff Vadym Skibitskyi also said that the DPRK authorities had sent one and a half million pieces of artillery ammunition to Russia. At the same time, he noted that the transferred shells were produced in the 70s and 80s of the last century.

He confirmed the use of North Korean ballistic missiles by the Russians in their attacks on Ukraine.

“It is very difficult to identify what exactly is being launched: “Whether it is a KN-23 or an Iskander, but the characteristics of these missiles are ballistic. The only thing we know for sure is that the missiles are different in size. And secondly, the North Korean missile is newer in development because it is most likely based on the Russian Iskander development,” he explained.
