The state agency PlayCity continues to clean up the gambling market from illegal operators. Over the past period, more than 1300 web resources that operated without a license and exposed players to fraud risks have been blocked. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
The agency’s goal is to create transparent and equal rules for legal business, increase tax revenues to the budget and protect citizens from dangerous schemes.
Fighting against illegal advertising
PlayCity is also active in the information space:
- 7 Instagram accounts that violated the rules on gambling advertising were closed;
- the popular Telegram channel Trukha Ukraine was fined UAH 4.8 million for spreading illegal advertising.
Strengthening control over licensed operators
The agency also focused on legal market participants:
- fines of over UAH 3.2 million were imposed on 8 companies for late reporting;
- the license of the PIN-UP casino was revoked due to the revealed ties with the Russian Federation;
- 7 licenses of operators that failed to confirm the absence of ties with the aggressor country were suspended.
Clear rules for everyone
PlayCity emphasizes that every blocked website, closed account, or fine is a step towards a transparent and secure market.
Legal operators should work according to the same rules, and players should receive guarantees of protection against fraudulent schemes.
