Police publish first photos of Parubiy’s killer’s arrest

The head of the National Police, Ivan Vyhivskyi, has published the first photos of the detention of the suspect in the murder of MP and former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Vygivsky’ s Facebook page.
“Police detained the killer of Andriy Parubiy. He had been preparing, watching, planning for a long time and finally pulled the trigger. It took us only 36 hours to get on his trail and detain him,” the head of the National Police wrote.
How the attack on Parubiy happened
on August 30, in the Sykhiv district of Lviv, an attacker disguised as a courier opened fire on Parubiy in broad daylight. He made eight shots.
“Cold-blooded cruelty. He even made sure the victim was dead. And then he tried to hide the traces – he changed his clothes, got rid of his weapon, tried to hide in Khmelnytskyi region,” added the head of the National Police.
However, the suspect failed to escape and was later detained.
Solving Parubiy’s murder
According to Vyhivskyi, thanks to the round-the-clock work of the Lviv police and the central office of the National Police, they managed to quickly collect evidence and detain the suspect.
“The round-the-clock work of the Lviv police and the central office of the National Police of Ukraine has yielded results – the bold murderer has been detained, and the necessary evidence has been collected. We know that this crime is not accidental. There is a Russian trace in it. Everyone will be held accountable before the law,” he emphasized.
As a reminder, MP and former Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy was killed on August 30 in the middle of the street in Lviv. An unknown person disguised as a delivery man fired eight shots at him on Yefremova Street and then fled. The 54-year-old politician died on the spot from his wounds.
According to preliminary information, the murder was planned in advance. The investigation is considering several versions, including a possible Russian trace. It has been established that the attacker was wearing a disguise and posing as a courier of the Glovo delivery service.
The suspect in the murder of Andriy Parubiy was detained on the night of September 1. Necessary investigative actions are underway.
Tetyana Chornovol may become an MP instead of Parubiy if she does not give up her mandate, as she is currently a military servicewoman.
