Poland updates rules on financial requirements for Ukrainians upon entry

Poland has revised the requirements for the availability of funds for Ukrainian citizens when crossing the border. Now it is necessary to confirm the financial solvency both for living and for returning home, Migrant info reports , "Komersant Ukrainian"

Minimum amounts for stay:

  • Up to 4 days – at least 300 zlotys
  • More than 4 days75 zlotys for each day

Return ticket costs:

  • pLN 200 – to neighboring countries
  • 500 PLN – to other EU countries
  • 2,500 PLN – outside the EU

Who is exempt from proof of financial solvency:

  • Holders of a work visa
  • Holders of a visa linked to the Pole’s Card
  • Holders of a residence card

Students, researchers and participants of trainings:

Persons entering Poland for the purpose of study, research or participation in educational programs must have at least PLN 1270 for the first two months of their stay.

Previously, financial requirements for Ukrainians entering Poland were less clearly regulated, but the general principles remained similar. Here is how it looked like before the recent changes:

Preliminary financial requirements:

  • 300 PLN – for a stay of up to 4 days
  • 75 PLN – for each day if the stay is longer than 4 days
  • Return ticket costs:
  • 200 PLN – for a trip to neighboring countries
  • 500 PLN – for returning to other EU countries
  • 2,500 PLN – for traveling outside the EU

These amounts have remained virtually unchanged after the revision of the rules, but now they are clearly stated as mandatory, and it has been clarified who is exempt from their confirmation.
