Polish authorities have decided to deport 63 foreigners, including 57 Ukrainian citizens and 6 Belarusians. The reason was the riots and provocative behavior at the concert of Belarusian rapper Max Korzh, which took place in Warsaw last Saturday.
This was announced by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk before a government meeting, Ukrinform reports "Komersant Ukrainian".
The reaction of the authorities
- Procedures for forced or voluntary departure from the territory of Poland have been initiated against 63 people.
- The judiciary promptly imposed fines for violating public order.
- Tusk emphasized that regardless of nationality – Ukrainians, Belarusians, Poles or Germans – violations should be properly assessed.
A call for restraint
The Prime Minister called for avoiding incitement to anti-Ukrainian sentiment:
He also warned that any aggravation between Ukrainians and Poles could be a “gift for Putin” ahead of the US president’s planned meeting with the Kremlin leader in Alaska.
Russian trace
- Tusk noted that the goal of Russian agents is to set Ukrainians and Poles at odds.
- He called a possible conflict between the two nations a “historical crime” and “unheard of stupidity.”
Context
- At the concert of Max Korzh, which gathered tens of thousands of people, aggressive actions were recorded: the use of fireworks, clashes with security, and the appearance of the red and black flag of the UPA, a symbol officially banned in Poland.
- Tusk acknowledged that the large wave of migration from Ukraine after the outbreak of the war created certain difficulties, but called it “a test of strategic maturity.”
