Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosyniak-Kamysh has announced the readiness of Warsaw and NATO countries to shoot down military aircraft that violate the country’s airspace. His words were quoted by TVN24, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

According to him, “NATO is ready to shoot down” aircraft, but “each decision is made by commanders and pilots after considering the specific situation.”

Kosyniak-Kamysh emphasized that commanders have the right to make decisions that “will protect Poland.” The military has been given the “green light” to use airplanes, as in the case of drones, the minister said.

“There is a common position: to react, deter and make bold decisions. This is what NATO’s Supreme Allied Command obliges us to do,” Kosyniak-Kamysh said.

on September 29, the former commander of NATO forces in Europe, Admiral James Stavridis, called on the alliance to take more decisive action against Russian aviation. He is convinced that NATO should shoot down drones and planes that violate the airspace of the bloc, and further consider the possibility of introducing a no-fly zone over Ukraine.
