Polish farmers will block the border with Ukraine again tomorrow: where queues are possible
22 January 07:40
Tomorrow, January 23, Polish farmers plan to start a strike near the border with Ukraine. This may cause traffic complications at border crossing points. This was reported by the State Customs Service of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Where exactly is the action planned?
According to customs officials, Polish farmers intend to strike in front of the Dolgobychiv-Ugryniv border crossing.
The blockade of the road leading to the checkpoint from the Polish side is expected to last from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Polish time.
At the same time, the organizers of the action say that the protest may continue throughout the day on January 23.
Warning for travelers
The State Customs Service of Ukraine urges citizens and carriers to plan their border crossing route in advance.
“Please take these circumstances into account and choose alternative border crossing points,” the customs service said in a statement.
Background and previous protests
It should be noted that Polish farmers periodically block the borders with Ukraine in protest. They can protest against anything, but they block the borders specifically at the checkpoints leading to Ukraine—farmers use this protest as a tool to put pressure on Warsaw.
Customs officials emphasize that in the event of a strike, queues and delays are possible, especially for freight transport, so it is worth following the latest news and taking the situation into account when planning trips.
