8 January 22:35

The US Embassy warns of a possible massive air strike on Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the diplomatic mission, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

“The US Embassy in Kyiv has received information about a potentially significant air attack that could occur at any moment in the next few days,” the statement said.

The diplomatic mission reminded people how to prepare for an air attack: in particular, to identify shelters before an air raid alert is announced, download an air raid alert app to your mobile phone, such as Air Raid Siren or Alarm Map, prepare supplies of food, water, and medicine, and go to a shelter if an air raid alert is announced.

The warning applies to all regions of Ukraine.

It is noteworthy that the US Embassy did not specify in the warning that Russia would be behind a massive air strike.

It should be noted that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that a new Russian massive strike could occur on the night of Friday, January 9. In this regard, the head of state urged citizens not to ignore air raid sirens.

“There is information that there may be a new Russian massive strike tonight. It is very important to pay attention to air raid sirens today, tomorrow, and always, and to go down to shelters. The Russians are consistent: they are trying to take advantage of the weather. I have instructed the government to assist local authorities and to help everyone involved as much as possible,” Zelensky said.

At the same time, he said that the authorities have mobilized all resources to resolve the difficult situation with energy supplies in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.

The president also expressed his gratitude to all the crews, utility services, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and energy companies that are providing continuous repair work.

“In Zaporizhzhia region, power supply was restored according to schedule during the day. Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Nikopol, Pavlohrad, and other cities and communities in Dnipropetrovsk region are still working. Unfortunately, there were new strikes today, specifically on the energy sector and the civilian sector, and in Kryvyi Rih, on residential buildings,” the head of state said.
