Flooding in Spain has led to almost a hundred deaths. Dozens of people have gone missing. This is reported by the Spanish edition of El Pais, "Komersant Ukrainian" informs
The country’s authorities confirmed that as of 19.00 the death toll is 92 people in Valencia, one in the province of Malaga and two in Castilla-La Mancha.
The Minister of Territorial Policy, Angel Victor Torres, declared three days of mourning, and also said that the government would declare the area “very affected” and promised to provide “all the necessary assistance” from state and European funds.
“Government announces three-day official mourning: october 31, November 1 and 2,” Torres said.
The Defense Ministry has mobilized aircraft, military psychologists and trained dogs to search for the bodies.
Dozens of people spent the night in Valencia in trucks or cars, on the roofs of shops or gas stations, or stuck in their cars on clogged roads until they were rescued.
It should be noted that the rains caused a power outage for 115,000 people, as well as road closures and the suspension of high-speed rail service between Madrid and Valencia.
