Ukraine, together with the US, continues to actively work on a post-war reconstruction agreement, focusing on details that need to be finalized.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote about this on social media on January 28, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

According to him, the relevant issues were discussed with the Ukrainian negotiating team and government officials. These are provisions of the future agreement with the United States that require further elaboration.

“We have identified with our negotiating team and government officials the issues that need to be worked out in more detail in the agreement with the US on post-war reconstruction,” Zelensky said.

The president stressed that work with the American side is continuing actively and that Ukraine is acting as quickly as possible. He also thanked representatives of the US administration for their approach to the negotiations.

“Work with the American side is actively ongoing, and the Ukrainian side is acting as quickly as possible. I would like to thank the representatives of the President of the United States for their constructive approach to the negotiations. We must achieve a result as quickly as possible,” he added.

What is known about the trilateral meeting in Abu Dhabi

On January 23-24, trilateral talks between Ukraine, the US, and Russia took place in Abu Dhabi. The discussions focused on ending the war and the further process of peace agreements.

NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov noted that the goal of the talks was “to move toward a dignified and lasting peace.”

President Zelensky previously emphasized that the key issues remain the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and the Ukrainian delegation expects concrete answers from Russia regarding the end of the war.

This meeting in Abu Dhabi was preceded by a visit to Moscow on January 22 by US representatives Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and Josh Greenbaum. There, they held a three-and-a-half-hour meeting with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin and his team, including Yuri Ushakov and Kirill Dmitriev.

Reuters and Axios, citing anonymous US officials, named February 1 as the specific date for the next talks.
