Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko has confirmed that a fire broke out in the government building in Kyiv after a drone attack on the city.

She announced this on her Telegram channel, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“For the first time, the government building, roof and upper floors were damaged due to an enemy attack. Rescuers are extinguishing the fire,” the prime minister wrote, posting a photo from inside the Cabinet of Ministers, where doors and windows are smashed and wires are hanging. The building is being extinguished from a helicopter.

Svyrydenko called on the world to respond to this event by increasing the pressure of sanctions on Russia, including restrictions on Russian oil and gas.
