President of Ukraine and world leaders congratulated Trump on his victory: who was first and what they said

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy was one of the first world leaders to congratulate Donald Trump on his victory in the US presidential election. The head of state posted a corresponding message on the social network X, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“Congratulations to Donald Trump on his impressive victory in the election!” Zelensky wrote.

In his social media post, Zelensky recalled their meeting in September, during which they discussed important issues of bilateral cooperation and ways to counter Russian aggression.

He emphasized the importance of the preliminary agreements reached at the personal meeting:

“I recall our great meeting with President Trump in September, when we discussed in detail the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States, the Victory Plan, and ways to end Russian aggression against Ukraine.”

Zelenskyy emphasized his approval of Trump’s approach to foreign policy, which is based on the concept of “peace through strength.”

“I appreciate President Trump’s commitment to the ‘peace through strength’ approach to global affairs. It is this principle that can really bring a just peace to Ukraine. I hope that we will implement it together,” the Ukrainian leader said.

The President of Ukraine also expressed hope for strong support from the United States under Trump’s leadership, especially in the context of bipartisan support, which is crucial for ensuring Ukraine’s stability and security.

“We look forward to the era of a strong United States of America under the decisive leadership of President Trump. We look forward to continued strong bipartisan support for Ukraine in the United States,” Zelenskyy wrote.

Concluding his message, Zelenskyy emphasized Ukraine’s desire to develop economic and political cooperation with the United States, which will benefit both countries and ensure stability in the region.

“We are interested in developing mutually beneficial political and economic cooperation that will benefit both our countries. Ukraine, as one of the strongest military powers in Europe, seeks to ensure lasting peace and security in Europe and the transatlantic community with the support of our allies,” Zelenskyy said.

The President of Ukraine expressed his desire to meet with Trump in person to discuss further steps to strengthen the partnership:

“I look forward to the opportunity to personally congratulate President Trump and discuss ways to strengthen Ukraine’s strategic partnership with the United States.”

After Donald Trump won the US presidential election, a number of world leaders expressed their congratulations and readiness to cooperate with the new president.

One of the first to respond was El Salvador’s President Naib Buchele.

“Congratulations to the President-elect of the United States of America! May God bless and guide you,” he wrote on social network X, accompanying the post with a photo of himself with Trump.

French President Emmanuel Macron also joined the congratulations, noting that he was ready to continue working together.

“I’m ready to work together as we have for four years. With your beliefs and mine. With respect and ambition. For the sake of greater peace and prosperity,” Macron wrote.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated not only Trump but also his wife Melania, noting:

“Your historic return to the White House marks a new beginning for America and is a powerful reaffirmation of the commitment to the great alliance between Israel and America. This is a tremendous victory.”

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer also expressed his hope for further cooperation.

“I congratulate the President-elect on his historic election victory. I look forward to working with you in the years to come,” he wrote in his congratulatory message.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbandid not hide his delight at Trump’s victory, calling it “the greatest comeback in the history of American politics.”

“This is an extremely important victory for the world!” Orban emphasized.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic noted that he and Donald Trump will face serious challenges ahead.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte also congratulated Trump, noting the importance of his leadership for strengthening the alliance:

“I have just congratulated Donald Trump on his election as President of the United States. His leadership will once again be key to keeping our Alliance strong.”

The leaders of Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic and other European politicians also joined in the congratulations. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen emphasized the importance of the EU-U.S. partnership, while Moldovan President Maia Sandu expressed her readiness to deepen strategic cooperation between the two countries.

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili also congratulated Donald Trump on his victory in the US presidential election:

“The strong one – our strategic partner and friend for 33 years – is needed now more than ever to support Euro-Atlantic integration, strengthen regional security and stability, and protect our freedom and independence.”

Congratulations also came from Turkish President Recep Erdogan, who emphasized the importance of strengthening Turkish-American relations in the new period:

“Congratulations to my friend Donald Trump, who after a great struggle was re-elected President of the United States. I hope for the end of regional and global crises and wars, especially the Palestinian issue and the Russian-Ukrainian war.”

Polish President Andrzej Duda wrote briefly: “Congratulations, Donald Trump. You have made this possible.”

It should be noted that according to the preliminary results of the US elections, the Republican Party wins a majority of seats in the US Senate, and Donald Trump wins the US presidential election.

Donald Trump has already declared his victory in the US presidential election, despite the fact that the vote count is still ongoing.

According to the latest data, Donald Trump received 267 votes in the Electoral College, compared to 224 for Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate.

The first candidate to receive 270 Electoral College votes will become the 47th president of the country.
