Prosecutor fired after Supermoms: former and current wives disclose undeclared assets

The Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Prosecutors filed for the dismissal of the Deputy Head of the Environmental Prosecutor’s Office Oleksandr Maleev after his former and current wives participated in the Supermom program. The women said that Maleev rents a house in the Kyiv region for about $3,000, but he did not indicate it in his declaration.
Oleksandr Maleev is the deputy head of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor’s Office, head of the Department for the Protection of the State’s Interests in the Field of Environmental Protection of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The official’s wife, Hanna Maleeva, took part in the Supermom program, where she said that the family rents a 130 m² house in Bucha. She also added that she had not asked about the cost of rent and could not answer this question. The prosecutor did not indicate the rent of the house in the declaration. According to journalists’ estimates, renting such real estate can cost about $3,000 per month.
The woman also said that the family lives in two cities – Odesa and Kyiv. And when they live in the suburbs of the capital, Oleksandr Maleev comes to visit for the weekend.
The program also featured the prosecutor’s former wife, Tetiana Maleieva. The woman said that Oleksandr Maleev rents an apartment for 15 thousand hryvnias a month for her and their children and pays 30 thousand hryvnias a month. This apartment and expenses are not listed in the official’s declaration either.
It should be noted that the program with the participation of women was released in November last year.
According to journalists, the house rented by the prosecutor is located on the territory of a nature reserve fund, where construction is prohibited. The Specialized Environmental Prosecutor’s Office, headed by Maleev, is responsible for controlling construction on the territory of the fund.
In his 2024 declaration, the prosecutor also lists his joint ownership of real estate in Odesa with his wife: two apartments of 43.7 and 28.9 m² and a non-residential building of 101.7 m². Maleev rents a 48.3 m² apartment in Kyiv and a 73.4 m² apartment in Odesa. In April 2025, the couple completed the construction of another 90 m² apartment in Odesa.
Oleksandr Maleev’s income from the Prosecutor General’s Office in 2024 amounted to UAH 1.3 million and insurance payments of UAH 15 thousand. The prosecutor keeps UAH 562 thousand in bank accounts and $2.5 thousand in cash.
