In 2025, Vinnytsia region recorded an increase in yields of late spring grains and legumes. Millet and peas showed the largest increase.
This was reported by the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
Yields have increased for almost all major crops
According to the UGA, yields have increased for almost all major crops. The most noticeable dynamics is in the late group of spring crops:
- millet: 15.3 c/ha (54.6% by 2024);
- peas: 9.5 c/ha (40.6%);
- buckwheat: 2.5 c/ha (19.7%);
- corn for grain: 12.9 c/ha (18.2%).
Also higher than last year’s figures were:
- sunflower – 4.8 c/ha (17.8%);
- soybeans – 3.6 c/ha (15.5%).
Vinnytsia region traditionally remains one of the key agricultural regions of Ukraine
Growth in yields of late crops is of particular importance, as they are most dependent on weather conditions in summer and early fall.
In previous years, farmers in the region faced
- climatic fluctuations;
- logistical constraints due to the war;
- resource shortages and rising costs.
The current figures show that production efficiency has been restored even in a war economy.
Agrarians of Vinnytsia region harvested 5.2 million tons of grain
Following the harvest, farmers in Vinnytsia region harvested 5.2 million tons of grain. This is the highest gross harvest in the region since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
Given that Ukraine has already exported more than 15 million tons of grain in total, the region’s results strengthen the country’s position in foreign markets and support foreign exchange earnings.
