The United Kingdom has imposed sanctions on Russian insurers and 30 tankers of Putin’s “shadow fleet”. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to a document on the British government’s website.
Sanctions against insurance companies were imposed because of their cooperation with the Russian government and participation in strategic sectors.
The tankers were subject to restrictions due to their involvement in actions that contribute to the destabilization of Ukraine and undermine its territorial integrity and independence. All these tankers were transporting oil from Russia to third countries. The sanctions include a freeze on the companies’ assets in the UK, a ban on trust services, and a ban on calling at British ports. Also, British insurers cannot provide them with insurance services.
