The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) has reported significant damage to one of its outrigger berths, the VPU-2, as a result of an attack by unmanned boats in the waters of the marine terminal, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The incident occurred on November 29, 2025 at 04:06 local time. According to the company, after the explosion, the captain of the Novorossiysk seaport suspended all cargo operations and tankers were moved out of the water area. No injuries were reported among staff and contractors.
The emergency protection system has shut down the relevant pipelines, so no oil pollution is expected to be observed in the Black Sea. Seawater sampling and environmental monitoring are underway, and a plan is in place to prevent and respond to oil and oil product spills (OSR).
The CCC noted that further operation of the VPU-2 is impossible, and shipments at the terminal will resume only after the threats from unmanned and unmanned boats are eliminated. The company emphasized that the attack on the infrastructure was the third act of aggression against its facilities. Before that, the Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station and the CPC’s administrative office in Novorossiysk were damaged.
The CPC unites the largest fuel and energy companies of Russia, the United States, Kazakhstan, and a number of Western European countries, providing oil transportation from the Tengiz, Kashagan, and Karachaganak fields. In 2024, the transshipment volume reached about 63 million tons, with almost three quarters coming from foreign shippers, including Tengizchevroil, ExxonMobil, Kazmunaigas, Eni and Shell.
