on March 26, 2025, Mariusz Kaczmarek, Deputy Chairman of the Board for Digital Transformation (CDTO), will leave his post. This was announced by the Supervisory Board of PrivatBank, expressing gratitude to the top manager for five years of cooperation and significant contribution to the development of banking technologies, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Mariusz Kaczmarek joined the PrivatBank team in 2020 and in five years has become a key figure in the implementation of digital innovations.
Throughout his career at PrivatBank, Mariusz Kaczmarek has held two important positions at once – Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Information Officer (CIO). His key achievements:
- Digital transformation of the bank, implementation of the latest technologies and improvement of services for clients.
- Migration of IT infrastructure to cloud services, which was a critical step for the stability of banking operations during a full-scale intrusion.
- Strengthening cybersecurity, which guaranteed the reliability of financial transactions and the safety of customer data.
Why is Kaczmarek leaving PrivatBank?

The Supervisory Board did not specify the reasons for Mariusz Kaczmarek’s resignation, but expressed gratitude for his contribution to the bank’s digital transformation.
“We are grateful to Mr. Kaczmarek for his dedication over the past five years, when he combined the roles of Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Information Officer (CIO),” the official statement said.
Who will be responsible for the bank’s digital transformation?
Until the competitive selection of a new deputy chairman of the board for digital transformation is completed, PrivatBank’s chairman of the board, Michael Bjorknert, will temporarily perform Kaczmarek’s duties. He will be responsible for:
- Management of IT departments.
- Information security department.
- Remote customer support department.
This transition period should ensure the smooth operation of the bank’s key digital divisions until the Supervisory Board appoints a new CDTO. The competition is expected to be completed within a few months.
What to expect next?
PrivatBank has announced the launch of a competitive selection process for a new Chief Digital Transformation Officer. This decision is strategically important as the bank continues to modernize its services and adapt to the challenges of the modern financial market.
Personnel changes in the largest state-owned bank in Ukraine attract the attention of both customers and financial sector experts. The technological solutions implemented by Kachmarek will form the basis for further development of PrivatBank’s digital services.
