PrivatBank is conducting technical work: when cards and ATMs will not be working

PrivatBank has announced temporary restrictions on card transactions due to scheduled maintenance work at its processing center. The financial institution announced this on Friday, January 16, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
When will the restrictions be in effect?
Payment card transactions will be suspended on the night of January 17, from 12:05 a.m. to 6:30 a.m.
During this period, ATMs, self-service terminals, and POS terminals of the bank will also be out of service.
Why is this happening
The bank explained that the work is being carried out to increase infrastructure capacity and improve the security of card transactions.
These are standard planned measures to ensure the stable operation of services in the future.
Advice for customers
PrivatBank recommends planning all important payments and cash withdrawals before the start of technical work or after its completion on the morning of January 17.
As of December 1, 2025, PrivatBank had issued 61.52 million payment cards, of which 31.50 million were active during the month.
The bank’s infrastructure includes 7,200 ATMs and 10,100 self-service terminals, and the number of POS terminals exceeds 342,000 (data as of October 2025).
