Remittances to Ukrainians have increased: new data from the NBU

In 2025, Ukrainians received more than $8 billion in remittances from abroad. The funds came through both official financial channels—banks, international payment systems, and postal operators—and unofficial channels. This was reported by the National Bank of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
How much money was transferred to Ukrainians
According to preliminary data from the NBU, the total amount of private money transfers to Ukraine in 2025 exceeded $8 billion in equivalent.
These statistics include:
- transfers through banks
- international payment systems
- post offices
- unofficial transfers (cash transfers).
The share of payment systems has increased
Previously, approximately a quarter of all funds were received through international money transfer systems.
In 2025, their share increased to almost 31% of the total volume of private transfers.
Payment systems brought $2.5 billion to Ukraine over the year.
For comparison, in 2024, the volume of such transfers was the same.
What is the average transfer amount?
The average amount of a single international transfer to Ukraine in 2025 was $274.
A year earlier, this figure was slightly lower — $267.
Which countries send the most money?
Ukrainians received the largest amounts of money from the following countries:
- United States — 22.4%
- Germany — 12.4%
- Israel — 11.1%
- United Kingdom — 10.7%
- Italy — 10.5%.
The most popular transfer systems
The leaders among payment systems are:
- Western Union — 39.7% of all transfers
- RIA — 21.4%
- MoneyGram — 17.8%.
Transfers also include humanitarian aid
The National Bank noted that in 2025, international payment systems continued to pay humanitarian aid to Ukrainians from international organizations.
Such payments have become an important source of support for people affected by the war.
