PrivatBank closes branch in Druzhkivka due to deteriorating security situation
2 February 20:03
The state-owned PrivatBank has announced the closure of its branch in Druzhkivka, Donetsk Oblast, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
The reason given is the sharp deterioration of the security situation in the city.
The bank notes that it has become dangerous to continue operating due to constant drone attacks and shelling, as well as the evacuation of civilians being carried out by rescue services.
What this means for customers
The Druzhkivka branch team is not ceasing operations entirely. Employees will continue to serve customers in Kramatorsk, located approximately 20 kilometers away.
PrivatBank assures that customers in Kramatorsk will be able to receive the full range of banking services that were previously provided in Druzhkivka.
The situation with the bank’s network in the region
Despite the difficult security situation in Donetsk Oblast, 11 PrivatBank branches continue to operate in the region. The bank emphasizes that decisions to close or relocate branches are made with the safety of customers and employees in mind.
PrivatBank is the country’s largest state-owned financial institution with an extensive network of branches in frontline regions. The bank has repeatedly reviewed its operating format in cities that are subject to regular shelling.
Against this backdrop, the bank is also expanding its alternative services. In particular, starting February 1, 2026, PrivatBank launched a monthly option for Visa and Mastercard business card holders to withdraw cash without commission at retail outlets when paying for purchases.
