PrivatBank has launched a service for joint bill payment: how to use it

PrivatBank, in partnership with Visa, has expanded the functionality of the Privat24 mobile app by launching a new service called “Payment Request.” According to the bank’s press service, the new feature allows users to quickly and conveniently split shared expenses between several people without exchanging bank card numbers or sending receipts via messaging apps, reports "Komersant Ukrainian".
What is “Payment Request”?
The new service is designed for everyday financial situations: shared purchases, bills in cafes and restaurants, taxi rides, travel arrangements, or gift purchases.
If one user has paid for the expenses in full, they can send other participants a request for compensation for their share — directly through Privat24.
How to use the service
The mechanism is as simple as possible:
- In Privat24, select the relevant transaction in your card statement.
- Click on the “Split payment” function.
- Add participants from your phone book.
- Specify the amount to be paid by each participant.
The system will then automatically send a payment request and, if necessary, reminders to the recipients.
No card details exchange
One of the key advantages of the service is that there is no need to transfer card details or send photos of receipts.
All payments are made within the secure Privat24 ecosystem using the Visa payment infrastructure.
Dmytro Musienko, member of the PrivatBank board responsible for the retail market, notes that the new service was created with a focus on customer experience and financial inclusion:
“Together with Visa, we are not only making digital financial services more convenient and transparent, but also systematically reducing barriers to financial interaction between people. This is our contribution to financial inclusion, which makes it easy to resolve even everyday issues such as refunds.”
Visa emphasizes the importance of simple and secure daily payments.
According to Tetyana Chorna, Vice President and Regional Manager of Visa in Ukraine, the partnership with PrivatBank allows for the implementation of solutions based on Visa’s global standards, which are invisible to the user but reliable for the market.

The “Payment Request” service will be useful for:
- friends and families who often have shared expenses;
- colleagues during business trips or events;
- travel and leisure organizers;
- anyone who wants to avoid awkward reminders to “send money.”
