Russia has conducted another test of the Poseidon submarine equipped with a nuclear power plant. Russian dictator Vladimir Putin announced this at a meeting with members of the government, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports, citing Russian propaganda media.

Putin called the tests a “huge success” and stressed that the complex continues to undergo testing as part of the Navy’s development program.

“Poseidon was formerly known as Status-6, with the NATO code name Kanyon. This is a Russian project of an unmanned underwater vehicle with a nuclear power plant. In fact, it is a nuclear torpedo that can cause guaranteed unacceptable damage to the territory, creating large areas of radioactive contamination and tsunamis.

Poseidon is 20 meters long, 1.8 meters in diameter, and weighs 100 tons.

Putin said that there is no way to intercept the Poseidon submarine.

“There is nothing like this unmanned vehicle in the world in terms of speed and depth, and it is unlikely to appear in the near future. And there are no ways to intercept it,” the dictator emphasized.

As a reminder, Russia tested its Burevestnik cruise missile, which is called an unlimited range missile,” with the participation of President Vladimir Putin. Putin characterized it as a “unique product” and ordered to prepare the infrastructure for its use.
