Rada extends martial law and mobilization for the 16th time: new terms

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has decided to extend the martial law and general mobilization once again. The relevant bills were supported at the plenary session on Monday, July 15. This was announced by MP from the Voice faction Yaroslav Zheleznyak on his Telegram channel, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The extension of martial law and mobilization was supported by 320 MPs, while one MP (Oleksiy Honcharenko) was against it.

The parliament voted to extend martial law and general mobilization for the 16th time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy submitted two bills to the Rada to extend martial law and general mobilization on July 14.

The President proposed to the Parliament to extend martial law and mobilization for 90 days, from August 7 to November 5, 2025. Now, following the Rada’s decision, the President must sign the bills.

For the first time, martial law was introduced in Ukraine on the first day of the full-scale war – in the morning of February 24, 2022 for 30 days.

Last time, martial law and general mobilization were extended on April 16, 2025.
