Today, on December 19, the Verkhovna Rada recalled MP Yuriy Boyko from the position of a member of the Human Rights Committee at the second attempt. This was announced by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“258 votes were cast in favor.

“On the second attempt, the Rada recalled Yuriy Boyko from the post of member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Human Rights, De-occupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, National Minorities and International Relations,” Zheleznyak wrote.

He noted that the Servants of the People party had a deputy who defended Boyko.

“There was a speech by a deputy from the Servants of the People who defended Boyko and campaigned not to vote. I wonder what percentage he represented,” the MP added.

Zheleznyak also showed how the voting went by factions.

The following voted in favor of Boyko’s recall:

  • “Servant of the People” – 182;
  • “European Solidarity – 24;
  • “Voice – 16;
  • “Batkivshchyna – 9;
  • “For the Future” – 6;
  • “Dovira” – 12;
  • “Platform for Life and Peace” – 0;
  • “Restoration of Ukraine” – 0;
  • Non-factional – 9.

It should be noted that yesterday, on December 18, the Verkhovna Rada did not have enough votes to recall MP Yuriy Boyko from the position of a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Human Rights, De-occupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, National Minorities and Interethnic Relations.

“Only 217 MPs out of 226 required voted in favor.

As a reminder, on December 16, a draft resolution was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada to recall Yuriy Boyko from the position of a member of the Human Rights Committee.

on December 17, Yuriy Boyko was summoned for questioning by the Security Service of Ukraine. After being interrogated by the SBU , Boyko recorded a video apologizing to Ukrainians and calling Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin a war criminal.

It should be noted that the former co-chairman of the Opposition Platform – For Life party, which was banned in 2022, Yuriy Boyko, posted a statement on TikTok in which he expressed support for people who allegedly suffer from some “radicals” in Ukraine and the alleged ban on speaking their native language.

He accused the unnamed “radicals” of forbidding people in Ukraine to speak their native language, go to the church they want, demolish monuments and rename cities.

Has the election campaign really started and are there any chances for Ukrainians to join the “fifth column” in the third year of full-scale warKommersant Ukrainian looked into it.
