Palianytsia drone missile: now we know a little more about it
4 September 11:48
At the international arms exhibition MSPO 2025 in Poland, representatives of Ukroboronprom for the first time revealed detailed technical characteristics of the domestic Palianytsia strike system. This happened more than a year after the first official presentation of the sample during the celebration of Ukraine’s Independence Day in August 2024, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports citing Defense Express.
Technical parameters
According to the published data, the total weight of the drone-missile is 320 kilograms. The payload can weigh up to 100 kilograms, which provides significant strike potential.
The effective range of the system is up to 650 kilometers. This figure is virtually identical to the map of potential targets shown during the first presentation of the weapon. Operating altitudes range from 15 to 500 meters above the ground.

Design and navigation features
The overall dimensions of the Palyanitsa include a length of 3.5 meters and a wingspan of 1.7 meters. It is interesting to note that, compared to previous conceptual images, the designers have made changes to the shape of the wing section, leaving the fuselage and tailplane unchanged.
A combined system that combines GPS satellite navigation with an inertial orientation system is used to guide the target. The launch is carried out with the help of a solid-fuel launch accelerator, after which the main jet engine is activated.
Flight characteristics
The maximum flight speed is 900 km/h, which is comparable to that of Russian cruise missiles of the X-101 type. This speed ensures high efficiency in overcoming enemy air defense systems.
Status of use
To date, there is no official confirmation of the combat use of the Palyanytsia in a real conflict. There are also no reliable photographs of finished models or their wreckage after being shot down.
At the same time, some experts suggest that this system may have been used in an explosion at an ammunition depot in the Russian city of Toropets, where the distinctive sound of a jet engine can be heard on the recordings.
