Rocket attack on Kyiv: debris falls in 7 districts, there are fires and casualties

On Monday, 8 July, the Russian army attacked Kyiv with missiles. Air defence forces were activated in the capital. However, as a result of the missile strike, debris was seen falling, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports, citing KMVA head Serhiy Popko and Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

The rocket attack on Kyiv resulted in the fall of debris in Solomianskyi, Dniprovskyi, Darnytskyi, Desnianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi and Holosiivskyi districts.

Preliminary data from the KCIA:

in Solomianskyi district – an office building was damaged;
in Holosiivskyi district – garages are damaged, cars are burning;
in Dniprovskyi district – debris is burning in residential buildings.
a private house was damaged in Darnytskyi district;
in Svyatoshynskyi district, debris is burning near a residential building, as well as a fire in the premises of an enterprise.
a house is on fire in Desnianskyi district.
in Shevchenkivskyi district, the Okhmadyt children’s hospital was damaged and destroyed.

“All emergency services are working at the scene. As of now, we know about one victim, her injuries are not critical to life. The information is being clarified,”

– kMVA writes.

Meanwhile, the mayor reported on the injured residents of the capital.

“One of them was hospitalised. Two were treated on the spot. We are checking the information about one person who died,”

– klitschko said.

At the same time, information about the evacuation of the Luknivska metro station began to spread on social media. However, the Kyiv City State Administration assured that it was used for transportation and to shelter people.

The building of a children’s healthcare facility was hit

“A shell hit one of the premises of a children’s medical institution.”

– klitschko wrote.

According to Suspilne, the Okhmatdyt children’s hospital was hit. Children from all over Ukraine are brought here for treatment.

Five people have been killed in the Russian attack on Kyiv, according to updated data from the KCNA.

It should be noted that the attack took place at a time when there were as many people as possible on the streets.

The rubble in the children’s hospital in Kyiv is being cleared. They are trying to get children out of the rubble.

In the Solomensky district, 2 floors of the Business Centre were damaged as a result of the fall of rocket fragments. Destruction on the area of 1500 sq.m. 1 dead, 2 injured, fire on the area of 50 sq.m.
Darnytskyi district: A fragment hit a private residential building. A woman was injured
Desnianskyi district: a house is on fire.
Holosiivskyi district: garages are damaged, cars are burning.
Shevchenkivskyi district: rocket fragments hit one of the hospitals.
