Favbet Group accounts blocked: what is the reason?
25 November 16:18
The Favbet group of companies has announced on Instagram that it has blocked spending transactions on its accounts, and customers are complaining about the inability to withdraw their funds, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“Recently, Favbet’s partner banks received an unlawful demand from the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy, Danylo Hetmantsev, to stop servicing the operations of the group’s companies. This has led to the blocking of all expenditure payments, including taxes, contributions and other mandatory payments to the budget,” the group said.
“I see that Favbet is posting a statement on telegram channels for money, and I can’t help the guys. So, the guys have no ties to Russia, their taxes have been paid in full, the players’ money that they don’t pay them is safe, and Matyukha is a Ukrainian. His Russian passport was drawn by Getmantsev. He is to blame for everything,” Hetmantsev commented on this message on his Telegram and reposted the company’s information.
The committee chairman had written several times before about blocking accounts. Among other things, on November 19, he reposted a complaint from a customer who claimed that he had not been refunded for 11 days, and on November 2, he reported an “illegal attempt to unblock the blocked accounts of a well-known gambling operator” at the state-owned Sens Bank on October 31 and called for not doing so.
“Favbet claims to be the largest taxpayer in Ukraine’s legal iGaming sector, and currently cannot transfer more than UAH 424 million in tax and license payments to the budget due to the blockade.
According to the company, in the first nine months of 2025, it paid UAH 6.4 billion to the budget out of about UAH 14 billion of payments by the entire industry.
