Record 15 billion UAH: “Forests of Ukraine” significantly replenished the state budget in 2025

SE “Forests of Ukraine” completes 2025 with record contributions to the state budget – more than UAH 15 billion. The company received more than UAH 8 billion in profit and invested UAH 2 billion in development.
According to "Komersant Ukrainian", this was announced on Facebook by the head of the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” Yuriy Bolokhovets.
According to the head of the company, this year’s profit of UAH 8 billion was the largest for all previous years of operation. Of the funds received, UAH 2 billion was allocated for investment projects – forestry restoration and development.
In addition, Yuriy Bolokhovets expressed the opinion that the amount of tax payments of UAH 15 billion makes the company “a real donor to the state budget.”
In addition to the financial results, in 2025, the Forests of Ukraine reported on
- planting 1 billion trees as part of the Green Country program;
- reducing the area of forest fires by 4 times, despite regular shelling;
- preservation of tens of thousands of hectares of self-sown and unallocated forests.
Bolokhovets attributes the company’s efficiency growth to the implementation of the forestry reform, which allowed for centralized management, transparent procurement, and open sales of timber through competitive bidding.
He also added that the reform of the industry was accompanied by resistance, as the changes eliminated corruption schemes that existed in the system.
“That is why the forestry reform is still fiercely resisted today. The pressure and persecution that have continued this year are not about me personally. These are attempts to stop the changes that for the first time since independence have made the forest a truly state-owned resource,” explained Bolokhovets.
Next year, the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” plans to focus on the following areas: digitalization of management, new global control systems, mechanization and increase in harvesting, large-scale demining projects.
The company also believes that the potential for economic growth has not yet been exhausted.
As a reminder, the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” was created at the end of 2022 as part of the forestry reform by merging state forestry enterprises. It is currently the country’s largest state-owned enterprise and the largest Ukrainian forest user, managing 6.7 million hectares of state forest land.
