A Record-Breaking March: Ukraine Imported 577,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel
6 April 21:08
In March 2026, diesel fuel imports into Ukraine totaled 577,000 tons, which is 27% more than in February and 12% higher than in the same period last year.
According to the A-95 consulting group, this is the highest volume of diesel imports for March since 2021, reports "Komersant Ukrainian".
Where did the fuel come from?
Main suppliers in March:
- Poland — 244,000 tons
- Romania — 154,000 tons
- Greece — 119,000 tons
Experts note that importers’ operations in March were complicated by the consequences of the war in the Middle East, which created problems in securing supplies. In particular, ORLEN S.A. suspended shipments in the first days of the month, and uncertainty arose regarding supplies from Romania and Greece.
Changes in the Geography of Supplies
In March, supplies from southern routes picked up; these had been limited in winter due to the resource’s low frost resistance:
- the share of southern supplies rose from 27% to 48%—to 276,000 tons (2.3 times more than in February)
- the share of western supplies decreased from 73% to 52%, and volumes fell by 9%—to 304,000 tons
Growth in the number of importers
According to A-95, the number of importing companies rose by 14 in March, reaching 124 market participants.
Expert Serhiy Kuyun emphasizes that there is no shortage of diesel fuel in Ukraine and none is expected.
Fuel prices
As of April 6, 2026, average prices at gas stations:
- A-95 gasoline — 72.94 UAH/L (1.11 UAH)
- diesel fuel — 89.7 UAH/L (2.07 UAH)
Prices are rising amid record imports and increased supplies from the south, which helps keep the market stable.
