Banking hours on New Year’s holidays: explanation of the National Bank

The National Bank of Ukraine has determined the procedure for the operation of the electronic payment system (EPS) and the banking sector during the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026. Despite the holidays, most payments will remain available 24/7.
This was reported by the NBU press service, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The regulator noted that the EPS system will operate non-stop. As throughout 2025, payments will be made around the clock with the date of the current calendar day.
However, special time limits have been set for transactions with the State Treasury Service due to the end of the reporting year.
Working hours and important deadlines:
december 30, 2025 (Tuesday) The banking system, foreign exchange market, and the NBU depository will operate as usual. However, payments by the State Treasury Service are subject to restrictions:
- Payments for the repayment and servicing of the state debt in foreign currency (including through Ukreximbank) are completed by13:00.
- Settlements on public debt in the national currency (including payments on domestic government bonds) are completed by16:00.
on December 31, 2025, and January 1, 2026, the EPS will continue to operate in the normal 24/7 mode. You can freely transfer funds between cards or pay for services.
On these two days, the EPS will not accept payments to and from the State Treasury. The Treasury is on vacation to close its annual accounts.
The foreign exchange market and other NBU systems will operate as usual.
